Avoiding Coronavirus Scams: Tips for Small Business from the FTC
Scammers are taking advantage of fears around coronavirus. Small businesses are not exempt to this. On this webinar, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) will discuss some of these scams and how to avoid them. Topics include email and text scams, robocalls, business email compromise and government help for businesses, in addition to cybersecurity tips to keep hackers away.

SPEAKER: ROSARIO MENDEZ of the Federal Trade Commission

Rosario Méndez is senior member of the Division of Consumer and Business Education in the Federal Trade Commission’s Bureau of Consumer Protection, where she works on the agency’s Small Business Outreach initiative. Her work supports the agency’s mission to protect all consumers, including business owners, from deceptive and unfair practices through law enforcement and education. Ms. Méndez also focuses on establishing partnerships with national and local organizations to help them alert their constituencies about consumer rights and businesses compliance responsibilities.
